Cranberry House

Tis the season to be jolly so my Mother suggested that I make a Christmas inspired fairy house and I'm so glad that she did!  This is "Cranberry House" a very festive and cozy winter cottage just waiting for Santa to come pay a visit.  Enjoy your holiday house tour and Merry Christmas!

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through this house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The wee stocking was hung on the cabinet with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The fairy was nestled all snug in her sleigh bed;
while visions of sugar-plums danced in her head.
And the red velvet curtains made from a cap,
Protected the fairy during her long winters nap.
The roof made of greens with pine cones and berries
Was decorated for Christmas by all of the fairies.
The moon filtering in from the new-fallen snow
lit up the cabinet making all of her treasures glow.
An angel.  A present. A thimble and train!
An ornament, an earring and peppermint cane.
And under the candle and right near the bed
Sits a plateful of cookies for Santa to take to his sled.
From the top of the roof to the top of the wall

A house is just not complete without a wreath at Christmas time.

The curtains are red velvet on a twisted vine curtain rod.

A peak at the red sleigh bed and mink throw!  The perfect place for a cozy nights sleep.

The hutch is painted Christmas Tree green and mounted on 2 childs blocks.  Recognize the date on them?

An antique lace area rug to keep the floor warm & another view of the sleigh bed.

The sewing spool nightstand holds an acorn candlestick and a plate of chocolate chips cookies for Santa.

A peak in the hutch filled with treasures.

A Christmas thimble and you have to some peppermint candy!

Decorations include a red Christmas ornament and a decorative bottle of gold pixie dust.

This birdcage home is adorned with pine garland, pine cones and artificial cranberries!

Here come Santa Clause!  Time for bed!

Alice's Lullaby

Hi everyone...it's been quiet here in my little fairyland lately...summertime and letting my hands heal after all the houses I made in the spring for the Fairie Festival.  I wanted to share this special commission called "Alice's Lullaby."  This was created for a gift from a Grandmother to her first grandchild.  It is filled with all sorts of treasures and will hopefully become a family heirloom.  Little Alice was born two weeks ago - so I hope she and her little fairy enjoy the house!

Alice's Lullaby...where sweet dreams & lullabies await!

Hand painted armoire filled with family treasures!

What little fairy wouldn't want this for her nursery?

The crib bedding is made from leftover swatches of the real nursery bedding!

A train for 1 Grandfather, a camera for the other.  A sewing basket for her maternal Grandmother and a Blessed Mother charm belonging to or her late Paternal Mother.  The 2 flags in the thimble represent her parents countries!

How cute is the miniature jack-in-the-box?

The mobile above the crib is made of crystals ...it just glistens when the sun hits it!

Every nursery needs a rocking chair and this one is covered in leaves!

This daffodil is strung with miniature white lights which makes this fairy house a night light too!

A heart shaped sign above the door lets everyone know this is Alice's house!

Nite. Nite!

The crib is covered in grasses!
