The Easter Gazebo

Whew!  Christmas is over and I can now post the house I just gave to my Godmother Lol for Christmas.  My Grandmother passed away a few months ago so this fairy house represents how my Aunt took over hosting the Easter festivities many years ago for my Grandmother.  Easter egg hunts, jelly bean jars, good fun & fun. There are special reminders of my Grandmother throughout this little gazebo...see below!  Happy New Year!

New Dollhouses To Be Transformed

These dollhouses are my most recent finds!  The White Victorian has been commissioned for a little girls "fairy" bedroom for early next year.  The white Farm House has a barn to go with it and I've re-done the roof on the Yellow House.  I'll be posting my works in progress and if anyone is interested in either house please let me know and I can customize it for your little one!

Handbuilt Farm House.  Huge rooms & Window will making playing with it a snap!

This house already has been commissioned.

Yellow Victorian is available!
I've added the thatched roof!

Now that I've begun this Yellow Victorian, I think it is going to have all the elements of a birds nest inspired Fairy house.  Twigs, Feathers, etc. Stay tuned!

My Fairy House Project Coordinator, Builder & Sander

Ryan paints his own custom fairy house!
My Son Ryan is my very own Tim the Toolman!  He is responsible for all sanding, drill bit changes and my construction consultant on all fairy houses!  This boy is responsible for some of the best ideas and "fix-it" solutions.  He has been working on his own fairy house for a few weeks, the roof has been removed & replaced, walls have been repositioned, rocks added and taken off about 1,000 times, it's been painted, glittered and totally overhauled.

How I Found My Inspiration and a Business was Born.

"And as the seasons come and go, here's something you might like to know.  There are fairies everywhere:  under bushes, in the air, playing games just like you play, singing through their busy day.  So listen, touch, and look around - in the air and on the ground.  And if you watch all nature's things, you might just see a fairy's wing."  ~Author Unknown

A real life Fairy Forest...Childs Park, PA
Hidden doorways at the base of trees.

My love of building fairy houses began in an effort to keep my 2 children & myself busy while my husband searched for a new job.  Being stuck in a 600 square foot summer cottage (in the Fall) with a 5 & 2 year old can really give you a creative push.
You could also blame it on the 1,000 hours spent watching Tinkerbell movies and our days spent exploring Child's Park in the Poconos.   All around us were mysterious fern glens, doorways in trees, and tiny little openings in the walls of rock.  "Now this is a forest where the real fairies MUST live, " we thought!

So, we decided to build our first fairy house to see if we could entice any wee ones to come to our backyard.  We now have 4 houses and lots of visitors.  The children leave nightly snacks of fruit, nuts & candy and have been rewarded in the morning with the telltale sign of pixie dust trailing from house to house and little gifts of flowers, notes & tiny brooms left behind.   The magic this has created for my children, nieces, nephews and our children's friends inspired me to make a house for my parents for Christmas, then a dollhouse for my niece.

Once a fashion marketing professional and now a stay-at-home Mom... I have found my creative therapy and started my own business, all the while nurturing the love of the outdoors in my children and allowing their creative little minds to flourish.

Each of these OOAK fairy homes & dollhouses are created after hours & hours of scouring the forests, the fields and antique stores for materials & treasures!  Enjoy looking at our backyard homes and the listings of Whimsical Properties available For Sale & those that have been Sold.
